HSEQ Management Kickstart

How do you extend your quality system to cover environmental, occupational health, and safety management?

Building and certifying a management system usually starts from the quality angle first — based on the ISO 9001 standard.

Once operations under that standard are established and maturing, the next natural step is often to extend the system — most commonly to environmental management (ISO 14001) and/or occupational health & safety management (ISO 45001).

Management-system frameworks — ISO standards — offer a great opportunity for this combined approach to HSEQ management (Health, Safety, Environment, Quality), since their shared structure and principles support building a coherent whole, even when several standards are in use at once.

Integrating ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 benefits an organization in many ways. It lets you make broader use of your existing quality system and the practices already in place. At the same time, the environmental, occupational health, and safety themes that matter most for compliance and legal requirements get managed more effectively — with less effort than running them as completely separate systems.

What you’ll get from this course

  • You’ll see how quality management supports environmental, occupational health, and safety management.
  • You’ll learn the common ground between ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 — as well as what makes each standard distinct in practice.
  • You’ll learn how an ISO 9001:2015-based management system enables integrating the other standards, and how to bring environmental and safety perspectives into a combined HSEQ system.

Who’s it for?

  • This training is aimed at managers responsible for quality, environmental, and occupational health & safety (HSEQ) topics, as well as subject-matter experts and organizational leadership.
  • You don’t need to be aiming for ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 certification to join — but the course can also support you toward those goals.
  • It’s broadly useful for any organization looking to sharpen and strengthen the impact of its quality, environmental, and occupational health & safety management.

Learning methods

  • This is a one-day course combining theory, discussion, and hands-on exercises.
  • Participants receive plenty of materials, practical tools, and best practices — a solid starting point for running an integration in your own organization.
